Muravera Travel Guide

Important centre and chief town of the Sarrabus region, Muravera is connected with Cagliari and the whole of Sardinia by national route S.S. 125 (Orientale Sarda); it is set on a river valley surrounded by a group of hills delimiting the marsh area including the ponds of Ferraxi, Colostrai, Salinas and San Giovanni.

Muravera is well known all over island for its citrus fruit for which there is a festival every year with display stalls and a variety of shows, which takes place at the end of March. Muravera is also famous for its beautiful unspoilt beaches like San Giovanni Beach and Torre Salinas that can be reached by driving South on national route SS 125 (Orientale Sarda): San Giovanni Beach is 4.2 km from the town, continuing to drive South at km 56 there is the exit leading to Torre Salinas Beach. Cristolaxeddu Beach and Colostrai Beach are 10 km away from Muravera. North from Capo Ferrato there is Ferraxi Beach , which prides itself for the white sand and the transparency of the sea.
